Aisha Ibrahim

Aisha Ibrahim was born in Iligan City, Mindanao the southernmost island in the Philippines. At six, her family immigrated to the United States and she maintained a strong connection to her cultural roots through her parents' and grandparents' culinary traditions.

Over the course of her career she’s worked in some of the world's most prestigious kitchens including Manresa, Azurmendi, Kagurazaka Ishikawa, and Nihonryori Ryugin.

In 2021, Ibrahim took on the role of Executive Chef at Canlis Restaurant. In 2023, she was honored as a Food & Wine Best New Chef in its 35th class and Canlis was listed in the World’s 50 Best Discovery Series. The following year, she served on the North American Judges Panel for the San Pellegrino Young Chef Competition and was appointed Team USA’s Global Mentor for the 2025 edition. TIME Magazine recognized her as one of their 100 NEXT, highlighting emerging global leaders reshaping the future of leadership. She was also featured in Robb Report’s “Ten Rising Power Players in American Fine Dining.”

By 2025, she earned the title of James Beard Award Semifinalist in the “Best Chef Pacific Northwest” category.

After a remarkable four-year tenure at Canlis, the restaurant was ranked number two in Food & Wine Magazine’s annual list of the Top 15 Restaurants and she was a guest on The Dave Chang Show in the episode “Being Competitive with Aisha Ibrahim”.
